Terms of sale
Last updated on September 13, 2026
This document sets out what ChronoHosting sells, on what terms, and what each side undertakes to do. It forms the contract between you and us from your first order onwards.
1. Who we are
ChronoHosting is a web infrastructure platform: domain names, hosting, virtual private servers, SSL certificates, business email and website translation. Our full legal details appear below.
2. Scope and acceptance
These terms govern every order placed on this site. By confirming an order you state that you have read them and accept them in full.
If you order on behalf of a company or an association, you state that you have the authority to bind it.
3. Your account
Ordering requires a customer account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you enter and for keeping your password confidential.
Anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us without delay if you believe someone else has reached it: we can then revoke your open sessions.
Your billing details also identify you to the registries and suppliers concerned. Inaccurate information can lead those third parties to refuse, suspend or delete a service.
4. The services
Each offer is described on its product page: what it includes, its limits and its price. Those descriptions are part of the contract.
Some services rely on technical partners: registries and registrars for domains, certificate authorities for SSL, datacentre operators for hosting and servers. Their own rules apply alongside these terms, and we tell you about them wherever they affect you directly.
We may change what an offer contains. A change to your disadvantage takes effect at the next renewal only, never during a period you have already paid for.
5. Prices, currencies and tax
Prices are set in CFA francs (XAF) and converted for display into the currency you choose. The conversion rate is set by us and may change: only the amount shown when you confirm your order binds you.
Applicable tax is computed at order time and shown separately on the summary and on the invoice. The rate used is the one in force when the order is placed; a later change does not affect an order already placed.
Displayed prices may change at any time. A change has no effect on orders already confirmed and applies from the next renewal onwards.
6. One-year minimum
Every service is sold for a minimum of one year. We do not offer monthly subscriptions. Some offers can be taken for two years or more at a better rate, shown on their page.
7. Ordering and payment
The process is: add services to your cart, complete your billing details, check the priced summary, then confirm. Confirming means accepting the total shown.
An order is firm only once payment has been collected. Until then it stays pending and can be cancelled.
Payment is made through the means offered at checkout. We store no card details and no payment account credentials: that information is handled by our payment provider.
An invoice is issued for every order and remains available in your client area.
8. Setting up your service
Most services are set up automatically once payment is collected, usually within minutes. Some steps depend on a third party and can take longer, in particular registering a domain name and issuing a certificate.
Some work is not triggered automatically by your order: it goes through our team. Website translation, whose result is checked by our team before delivery, and certain domain extensions that no connected registrar sells. Their turnaround is the one stated on the offer's page.
If an order cannot be fulfilled we tell you why, and the corresponding amount is refunded to you.
9. Renewal and cancellation
Every service carries a renewal date, visible in your client area. A renewal is never taken without notice: we send you a renewal notice and its invoice before the date falls.
To stop a service, simply do not settle the renewal notice, or tell us. The service then ends on its renewal date.
A service that is not renewed stops at its renewal date. The data it holds may be permanently deleted after that: take your backups beforehand.
10. Rules specific to domain names
A domain name is not sold to you: it is allocated for a period set by the registry of the extension concerned. Those rules bind us as much as they bind you.
- Availability shown while you search is an indication: a name can be registered by someone else between your search and your payment.
- The holder's details are passed to the registry, and some of them may be published in public directories depending on the extension's rules.
- An extension may impose its own eligibility, verification or duration requirements.
- Some extensions offer no grace or redemption period after expiry: the domain is deleted and can be taken immediately by someone else. The .cm extension is one of them.
- Transferring a domain to another provider is your right; the registry's rules and timings apply.
No refund is possible once a domain has been registered with the registry, the operation being irreversible.
11. What you undertake
You alone are responsible for the content you publish or store through our services, and for its lawfulness.
In particular, you must not use our services to:
- distribute unlawful content, or infringe anyone's rights, including intellectual property rights;
- send unsolicited bulk messages, or impersonate anyone;
- host fraud, phishing or malware distribution;
- disrupt the operation of any network or system, ours or a third party's;
- consume shared resources in a way that degrades the service given to other customers.
You undertake to keep your contact details current, and to keep your own backups of the data that matters to you.
12. Suspension and termination by us
We may suspend a service for non-payment, for a breach of the undertakings above, or where the security of our infrastructure or a third party's is at stake.
Except in an emergency or where the law requires otherwise, we warn you before suspending and give you the chance to put things right. Where a breach is serious or repeated, we may terminate the service.
13. Availability and support
We take reasonable steps to keep the services running. Interruptions remain possible: maintenance, an incident, or a third-party supplier failing. We announce planned maintenance in advance where we can.
Support is provided in French and English, through the means shown on the Contact page. These terms carry no contractual commitment on availability or response time; such a commitment can only come from a separate written agreement.
14. Liability
We are liable for direct loss resulting from a failure on our part to meet our obligations.
We are not liable for the consequences of content you publish, for data you have not backed up, for someone else using your credentials, or for decisions a registry or third-party supplier takes under its own rules.
Our liability in respect of a service is limited to the amounts you paid for that service over the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
15. Personal data
How we handle your personal data is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
16. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The version that applies to an order is the one in force on the day it is placed. Where a change is substantial, we tell you before it applies to your running services.
The date these terms last changed is shown at the top of this document.
17. Governing law and disputes
The contract is governed by the law of the country named in our legal details below. If something goes wrong, please contact us first: most disputes end there. Failing agreement, the dispute goes before the courts named below.
